Manti is a surreal ball jointed doll. It took me months of work to achieve this seeming simplicity, to portray the smoothness of underwater creatures, the sharpness and slenderness of insects, with a soul from another reality. One of the most important points to me is that even naked, having no accessories yet, it is a piece of sculpture. A moving art object. Being androgynous this doll has the potential to become female, male and everything in between, giving the chance to the owners to express themselves through their work on the character, and see a part of themselves in it. In the process of making the doll and working through the architecture of its movements, I payed attention to all the possible poses it could take, making it feel organic and natural: almost alive when you are interacting with it.
